29th January 2010 - Editing

Today we have edited the whole movie/clip as a group, we managed to get the requied areas of film and put them together neately and smoothly. We used Adrobe Premier Pro to edit it together, as no one in the group knew how to use the software, we had to read thrugh the guide to use the program. we edited it very efficently and managed to do it all this lesson, we alos added transition affects at the end and he beggining fading the clip in and out and used a title screen to show who produced the clip. After deciding we wanted some sound on the video clip, we went and founf some free, music on an interent site, This was obtained from http://derekaudette.ottwaarts.com/ and we chose 'The Long Road Into The Night'. We thought this fitted appropriately with the piece.

Final Prelim Piece:

After watching out video through, we did some see faults in the filming, at some points we found that we had broken the 180 degree rule. This shows that when filming my final piece we need to plan more carefull and better awareness when filming.

Next lesson 1st February - Show our clip to the class and start planning for the actuall thriller clip.

18th January 2010 - Preliminary Task Planning

Today we have watched a video describing and explaining how to take a shot reverse shot and about how to use the 180 rule, i took notes on the process and learnt all the neccesary requirements to take the perfect shot, these include not going over the 180 rule and putting the shots in a certain order to get the best take on the situation.

We have also planned out the video will we create using a storyboard, this storyboard shows what characters will be in the shot, what they will be doing, the camera angle used and the type of shot and also includes any sounds that are going to be added. We have also roughly guessed the time each shot would take to film including extra time to edit the shots together.
(Our clip is about a man being told his wife has passed away in hospital)
